New Jersey Governor Withdraws Appeal Of Gay Marriage Ruling

(Trenton, NJ)  --  The State of New Jersey is dropping its appeal against the legalization of gay marriage.  At midnight, cities around the state began performing same-sex weddings following a state Supreme Court ruling.  The state was set to appeal the ruling but Governor Chris Christie has asked the acting attorney general to withdraw it.  A recent court decision allowed the marriages to take place while the appeal process played out.
