Taylor Swift gets support from an ex

One of Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriends is speaking up in her defense.

The Jonas Brothers' Joe Jonas has taken to Twitter to go after Lorde, the 16-year-old New Zealand singer whose hit "Royals" is currently at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Joe seems to be upset over the comments Lorde recently made about Taylor to "Metro UK," in which she reportedly called the country star's appearance "unattainable" and said that looking up to her isn't "breeding anything good in young girls." The young star also supposedly critized Taylor's friend Selena Gomez.

Lorde later explained on Tumblr that her words were taken out of context and that she actually admires Taylor as an artist.

She stated,"What I meant was: there's a lot of importance placed on physical perfection in this industry, and I wish my favourite stars didn't look perfect because I think fans (me included) have these feelings of worthlessness."

Later she went on to write, "I am very very new to this whole thing. I will probably never be the kind of role model for my fans that TS is for hers. I admire her very much for this reason. Basically, this is an apology for not thinking too hard before i speak."

However, despite her public apology, Joe still confronted her on the site by referencing her own song:

Uh-oh, T-Swift better watch out... looks like Lorde may be trying to steal the throne!
